It's finally time for the Mustangs to take the field in 2008.

There aren't too many components that will remind you of the 1-11 team from a year ago. Phil Bennett is no longer on the sidelines, Justin Willis wont be lining up behind the center and you wont see wearing blue helmets or the red Nike jerseys from last season.

The SMU women's volleyball team opens its fall home schedule tonight at 7 p.m. with a match against Texas-Arlington at Moody Coliseum.

The Mustangs opened the 2008 season by winning two of three matches at the Baylor Invitational last weekend. After falling to the Baylor Bears 3-0 on Friday, the Mustangs rebounded Saturday to beat Lamar 3-1 and Prairie View A&M 3-0.

TCU alumni Jake Arrieta was one of 24 men selected to represent the United States on the Team USA baseball team in Beijing. The team earned a bronze medal after Arrieta pitched six innings and allowed no runs on two hits while striking out seven Chinese batters to earn a win in pool play.

In his first collegiate start, SMU quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell took the Mustangs into the end zone twice in the first two series. But he only had one more scoring drive the rest of the game.

Mitchell finished the game completing 25 of 43 passes for 244 yards and three touchdowns, but he also threw three interceptions and fumbled the ball once.
